This resource will help your students practice and build skills for making inferences and citing text evidence in nonfiction texts. It will help you target these specific informational text reading skills to support your students’ growth as readers.
To help you introduce and teach inferencing and text evidence, there are teaching notes with tips and ideas for each skill, 2 anchor charts, and a set of question stems included.
To best help students learn and practice the skills, this resource includes 5 passages specifically targeted to work on making inferences and citing text evidence.
To help you easily differentiate while students practice the skills, the passages are included on 5 reading levels that cover grades 3-8. Included in this resource are 5 original reading passages on 5 levels, totaling 25 passages.
To help you assess student understanding of the skills, there is a question set with 5 questions for every passage included. Each question set is included in 2 formats: short answer and multiple choice. Every question focuses on practicing the reading skills. Each student, regardless of the reading level that is assigned, can complete the questions.
